 The sacred town of Reims is the capital of the Champagne region and known throughout the world for its sparkling wine, champagne. Reims is also the city of coronations where most of the French Kings were crowned.
Our morning orientation tour of Reims includes a guided visit of the Gothic cathedral and its beautiful stained glass windows and statuary.
At the superb Piper-Heidsieck champagne caves, we embark in small carriages for a magical tour with recorded commentary in seven languages. A champagne tasting completes the visit.
After some free time for lunch, we enjoy the picturesque landscape of vines between Reims and Épernay in the afternoon. At Épernay we visit the prestigious wine cellars of Moët & Chandon for a tour and wine tasting.
From the first of December, the tour will visit Mumm cellars instead of Piper Heidsieck, and taste the cellar’s famous "Cordon Rouge.
