Description |

Historic Bruges is a noted World Heritage site of UNESCO. Its well-preserved and charming buildings make one feel as if they’ve stepped back in time. Also referred to as "The Venice of the North," this picturesque town is so different from other European attractive cities. Its canals make it so peaceful. Meanwhile its small size makes it seem intimate and enables the tourists to visit it easily within one day.
We begin by crossing the northern districts of Paris as far as the entrance to the northern motorway. Our route takes us as far as the Belgian border. Before reaching the border, we make a stop for refreshments (not included).
We arrive at Bruges around 11:15 and visit the historically rich center of the town on foot which takes us by Le Béguinage (Béguinage's monastery), the gothic-style Town Hall, the Place du Bourg with la Basilique du Saint-Sang, la Grand Place, Les Halles (indoor market) dominated by the belfry and the Notre Dame Cathedral.
Free time is allocated for lunch (not included). You can find one of the local restaurants with Belgian specialities such as "moules frites" (mussels and chips served with various sauces like wine, cheese, onions, garlic, etc.) and an extensive selection of beers.
A visit to the Flemish art museum or shopping for handmade lace and Belgian chocolates are also among the most popular ways of spending an afternoon at Bruges.
During the summer season, a boat cruise along the famous canals is included either in the morning or the afternoon program.
We leave Bruges at 16:30 and arrive at Paris at around 21:00.
